[ The rapid shift in mood is slightly less remarkable for Mishima if only because he's always been good at compartmentalization; if he has something productive to focus all of his energy on and take pride in, he can box up his trauma and store it away in the closet of an old, weaker version of himself that he can pretend doesn't exist anymore. It's how he'd managed to pull off an outward personality 180 when he'd first devoted himself to the Phantom Thieves, so with something similar that he can start to focus on now...
Then again, with friends he can (apparently) more readily open up to, maybe he won't need to rely on that so much this time.
...Yeah, it does feel pretty nice hearing his name like that, and it makes him smile as he gives a slight horizontal nod of approval.
(Kurusu hadn't ever called him that, even though Mishima still thought of him as his best friend. Which, if he thinks about it, is maybe kind of weird, but also probably mostly his own fault, given that he still always thinks of him as Kurusu rather than Akira himself.) ]
