LOCATIONS

Comment here with the new locations you have added to deadland in its temporal state.

Locations will be Not As Good as the ones from the school, but honestly. The sky is now your limit. Just make sure to make the description is in the comment, and the title is in the header.

THE FUCKING SKY

[personal profile] starswink 2018-10-07 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
it belongs to Mishima now, love you bae

ok but seriously it's just a normal earth sky. with weather, but for the most part always beautiful clear night skies perfect for stargazing / moon viewing with regular cycles and the occasional meteor shower

ThunderClan Camp

[personal profile] recodified 2018-10-07 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
A stone hollow-like quarry, surrounded by tall cliffs. Its entrance is a thorn tunnel, large enough for humans to crawl through. A high rock sits in the center, and there are many caves and crevices in the walls, most of them sheltered with bramble tendrils, falling from above. Several large bramble bushes cover dips in in the ground, large enough for several cats to curl up under.

Oh, and there's a big ol' beech tree that's fallen in the center of it, but it looks like just part of the scenery now.

Opera house

[personal profile] sendintheclown 2018-10-07 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
An aged opera house of a humble size, slightly decrepit but very grand with a large chandelier above the audience seats. The stage is large enough to put on acts that would perhaps be more suited to the floorspace of a tent, and has a nice large pit for the organ and orchestra.

It has everything you'd really expect in such a place; back offices, changing rooms, a lobby, rafters filled with pigeon nests, etc.

Kong Studios.

[personal profile] 12d3 2018-10-07 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
The old studios that Gorillaz used to live and record their albums in.

It's a tall, multy storey'd building sitting on top of a hill with a graveyard at the base of it. It's in a rough state, but most of the rooms are still completely fine and in tact!

Underneath the building is a bunker... fitting after all those explosions they just went through. And above it is the parking garage with many cars and Murdoc's Winnebago. There's a room in the parking garage that belongs to 2-D himself -- it's thin, like a long closet with keyboards all over the walls. Exactly what you'd expect.

On the next floor is the main entry to Kong Studios. There's a jukebox that plays a plethora of music, bathroom stalls for both women and men, a built in theatre that plays only horror movies or Gorillaz music videos, an auditorium, a bowling alley, and a shooting range. The studio where the magic happens is on this floor, as well. There's a small kitchen for those late night jam sesh's, a room filled to the brim with instruments of all kinds (mostly keyboards) and the recording booth. On one side is the soundproof room where they record on the other, there are tons of computers and monitors where the sound feeds back into. There's a huge mixer and a shelf with... more keyboards. There's so many keyboards in this studio it's kind of ridiculous.

The top floor has Russel's room, Noodle's room, a bigger and better kitchen and a cafe. Classy!

If you want to look more into the weird world of Gorillaz and want to have more of a visual reference, this site has a mostly working interactive tour of the studios. It's very strange but very charming.

TREE CITY

[personal profile] supportrole 2018-10-10 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yoosung and Mishima's fantasy RPG city in the trees, accessible with bridges and cool elevators. (Look, they're making the most of this worldbuilding thing, don't judge them.)

Anyone who wants to live like an awesome modern day elf is welcome to take a house up here!

GUILD HALL

[personal profile] supportrole 2018-10-10 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
At the center of Tree City is the guild hall! It's pretty cozy and not too big, but functions as a kind of government office/gathering place/nerd hangout all at once. There's a small tavern area in one corner (in memory of their beer-filled mini-fridge back at the school). While it generally has a cool fantasy feel, it also totally has a big TV and video game consoles and some computers and other comically incongruous stuff.

Yoosung and Mishima's apartment is upstairs, so no one get too rowdy in the tavern! (Remember original guild rule #5: Have fun but drink responsibly!!!)

There are large planters with bushes out in front for their feline guild members to enjoy hiding in.

CAFETERIA

[personal profile] supportrole 2018-10-10 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
There's a modest restaurant/cafeteria next door to the guild hall to replace the school cafeteria. Feel free to cook here if you want, or just come enjoy the food your friends make! (Sure you don't have to eat when you're dead, but it's still enjoyable!)

THE FUCKING GROUND

[personal profile] starswink 2018-10-10 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
because no one wants patches of static between their locations, so they officially needed the actual ground. It's made of healthy soil with grass growing out of it in most places. Paths automatically form to lead to all major locations - wildflowers line the ones that are traveled the most. The ground is also deep enough to dig very far down, if you so desire. Beneath it is a system of tunnels and sewers from major locations, perfect for those who wish to stay out of sight and probably not technically useful for much else. I mean, the waste probably just gets deleted, right........ let's not think about it.

OBSERVATION TOWER

[personal profile] starswink 2018-10-10 09:17 am (UTC)(link)
A railed platform much higher up than the others in the treetops, reachable by a lift, where you can look out upon the tree city and even some of the other places in the distance - with your eyes or with a spyglass! It can fit a reasonable group of people but it's small enough for a cozy atmosphere, with a few benches to sit on. It's also a good place to look up at the sky.

ALL OVER: There are elaborate staircases and plenty of aesthetic elevators, sometimes brassy ones, sometimes rickety iron service ones.

ABOVE: The rafters are full of pigeons, spotlights, and a projector. There are a few balconies and opera boxes in between. Enormous chandelier in the center. A door leads to the roof.

MAIN: The double doors of the main entrance lead into the lobby. There's an information center with posters and screens and pamphlets, and a concession stand. The stage itself is very large. After all, it's not like the maximum seating capacity has to be that high. The connections of the backstage to the wardrobe include at least one fireman pole.

SEWER LAIR: Behind everything else, through dark hallways, is a dark river with a boat that is little boat sized.
PIT: not to be confused with the orchestra pit, this is a large unfinished room with bean bag chairs and sleeping bags and play parachutes. It's for guests, as if they have any.
DRESSING & BATHING: clothing storage, props, medium-term makeup application, laundry - lots of things can get done here.
DISHWASHER: Industrial, goes with the kitchen.
KITCHEN: Long and thin. Behind the counter of the concession stand is a dumbwaiter connected to the kitchen.
DINING ROOM: At least a couple of chandeliers... Paintings nobody should ever want to see.
CLOWN: :o)
CONFERENCE ROOM: Not entirely unlike the computer lab in the school; connected to the information center.
STUDY: like a college professor's office. Large desk, multiple easy chairs, a computer and monitor on the desk with an additional large display mounted on the wall, ergonomic swivel chair, bookcases, cabinet full of school suppies.
UNDERSTUDY: a really small Japanese style bedroom with an entry area where shoes are supposed to be removed and a futon and a low table to be kneeled around.
POWER: After certain events in the recent past Mitarai sleeps easier with the fuse box close by.
starswink: (pleasant)

HOUSING

[personal profile] starswink 2018-10-12 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Several houses are strewn about the city, mostly empty rooms for the taking. They're each about the size of a studio apartment. You can simply claim one and pick out whatever you want to furnish and decorate them. (They had Eve make a catalog for this purpose. It's ridiculously huge, like the size of an encyclopedia. The sky really is the limit.) However, by default they have a futon, a wardrobe for your clothes, a treasure chest for other stuff, and a few homey things like clocks and wall lamps.

KARAOKE VENUE

[personal profile] starswink 2018-10-15 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
A place to belt out your passions and sorrows! To the side of the building, there are hallways with little rooms for individual karaoke, which have the usual set up you'd expect of a simple microphone and screen. There is also a round wooden main stage in the center area, decorated with hanging lights and three mic stands. There are tables and chairs in the audience, all centered around the prerequisite source of liquid courage - a fancy wine fountain. Unlike the tavern, we're all too busy singing to play bartender at this place, so just hold a glass out and you're good to go!

SWAN LAKE!!!

[personal profile] lovedanime 2019-01-28 10:41 pm (UTC)(link)
One of the paths from "the ground" leads to a hill. After passing through a reasonable thicket of barren slender trees lined with snow and clouds, the visitor finds themselves high in the steppes, approaching a frozen lake. At the peak of the hill, it's impossible to see anything in the distance besides the whiteness of winter. Elegant ice structures to the side (yeah think Elsa's castle in Frozen) contain supplies like skates, but it is recommended to arrive at the rink with a winter coat or whatever figure skating outfit you have in mind, either already wearing it or modifying your own data on the spot.
