[ Hank pauses, considering... ]

You know, I don't think I've tried sending you just... a picture. You wanna try?

[ they're holding hands already anyway. go for it. ]

[ Oh, yeah. Hank cycles through a few ideas before focusing on one that sounds good. He'd considered Sumo, but that included a lot of feelings about Sumo. And he could go with a donut, but then that'd include the flavor and taste of the donut, too.

So instead he tries to visualize his police badge. He has his ID memorized, of course. Connor would know it too, but it's a picture, right? ish? ]

[ he definitely gets it. it's an easy, straightforward thing to send. ]

Your badge.

Yep, that's right.

[ Hank smiles. His badge is important to him. There's sentimental value to it too, maybe Connor can feel that. ]

It's gotten me through a lot.

[ Hank blushes again, looking away. Maybe he needs to work on not sending his emotions because Connor gives him such strong ones. ]

It's really not that impressive. Just the easiest thing that came to mind.

And why's that?

[ Hmmmm?? ]

[ he doesn't have to say, he just shares -- how much hank means to him, how proud he is for all the change he's been able to make while they've been here. how great he is with all of the others; how much hank clearly meant to them all during the trial. how emotionally strong he was, when connor was not. ]

Connor, you dumbass.

[ Hank is moved by what he shares of course. The support he'd given the students, all the improvements he's made—none of it would have been possible without Connor. Hank makes sure to share that too. How much Connor's support helped him changed, how it helped him see the kind of person he could be. 53 years had left him jaded and done with his life, but Connor changed all that and still every day came up with new things to teach him. Hank is proud of him. He's more than proud, really. ]

[ connor smiles. it's soft, just for the two of them. ]

That's what partners are for.

[ Hank returns the smile, soft and light. He's smiling a lot more now. That's thanks to Connor, too. ]

[ Rebecca was right, Hank is getting a lot of practice in on this hand-holding thing. ]

[ yes, it's all very overwhelming for this baby android. so he'll change the subject]

[ it's lieutenant because he's being a touch sassy since hank hates compliment. ]

[ Very cute, Connor. Very cute. And don't think Hank isn't catching on to that sass. ]

Well, you know, once upon a time, I was at the top of my class. I'm smarter than I look.

[ Yes Hank definitely hates compliments and he hates this, can't you tell by his dumb smile ]
