Soz, mate. I don't really uh... get a lot of jokes, I guess. [he has a case of the stupid]

But.. oh, um. I-- I wanted to tell you "thanks" during the Ouija board party but I didn't really have the chance. 'Cos you were the only one who checked up on me after I got beat up and you gave me some really good advice, you know? "Die a mopey mess or with your head held high"... it stuck with me afterwards, when I had to sing that blasted song. I tried my best to keep my head up 'till the last second and I've been tryin' to do that too even here 'cos.. well.

[ waver...actually looks at him in shock. he never expected 2d to actually thank him for something like that, especially after such a traumatic execution. if anything, he expected 2d to hate him, or something like that.

[2-D offers a bit of a sheepish smile as he says that, and he notices him feeling self conscious with the body language from his hands. He didn't mean to make him feel bad for being upset with what he said -- he wasn't even really trying to give him advice honestly he was just thanking him... but he's also used to being Bad With Words, so he reaches out and gently places his hand on Waver's nervous ones to stop him from fumbling them anymore.]

But it's fine to mope about it, you know? This place is uh.. well, kind of a second chance for us, I guess. And some of us are tryin' to make the most of it and make up for what we did, but that don't mean that you have to stop being mad at Mitarai for what that knob did to you.
