R1 DEADLAND PT2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO
[it’s strange, for the people who were already dead, the shift in scenery is sudden and complete. For those who have just arrived? It’s like you’re back where you left?
How strange.
But if you ever need her, you can always reach out to the guardian of this place.]
LOCATIONS
Note: locations lag a week behind the living counterparts

[ A surprisingly responsible adult. ]
Paintball's great for teaching people the importance of gun safety. You can take a hit but it'll still bruise like a bitch.

[ well...that's actually understandable. not that he knows what paintball is but...he can guess what it is from what hank says.
hesitantly, waver picks up one of the guns, holding it awkwardly. it's obvious that he's never seen anything like a real gun, much less use one. ]
Still, do you think we're gonna end up using guns?

You don't wanna keep your finger on the trigger. That's how misfires happen.
[ Hank shrugs. He doesn't know tbh. ]
Figure it won't hurt to at least teach you kids how to aim. Plus it beats hanging around doing nothing.

[ waver lets hank adjust his grip, although he still looks like a fish out of water. ]
So I just...pull the trigger? And that's it?
no subject
[ He shrugs. He doesn't like Vivienne anyway so it's no loss for him... ]
Safety off, both hands on your pistol, finger off the trigger... yep, then you just aim and shoot.
[ Hank demonstrates with his own. ]
One thing you wanna make sure you never do is point at something unless you're willing to shoot it. So none of that waving your gun around bullshit. Well, and you wanna keep recoil in mind when you're firing off multiple shots, but in the real world the less you fire the better. That's why getting the hang of the aim is so fucking important.

[ but waver is actually a pretty good student, and mimics hank's actions with less hesitation. safety off, finger on the trigger, both hands on pistol, aim and--
shoot!
it misses, by a long shot, and waver tenses up on hearing the sound of the gun firing. his arms may be shaking but, hey, at least he's still holding the gun! ]
Bloody hell.

Not too bad for your first time, kid. Least you got the shot out in the right direction.
[ A real gun would be way too loud, even simulated. ]
Shaking's a good thing. Guns are shit you gotta respect.
